Chelsea's Buggy Song - Layout

I made this up so I could print it out for Chelsea...  :)

It may be a little hard to see, but Chelsea has "THIS" written on her fingers.  As she sings the song, she opens and closes her fingers to spell the words "this", "is", and "hi".  Her open hand shows Buggy's smiling face.  The song goes

This is Buggy.
Buggy says Hi.
This is Buggy
When a car goes by...

On the last line, she smacks her hands together, then shows you a "smooshed" Buggy on her opposite hand.

Isn't that great?  :)  I thought it was pretty funny and grabbed my camera! 

Summer's Fading kit by Paint the Moon

4x6 Album

Isn't this a cute photo album?  I found these at Michaels and picked up a few!  I used this one to make an album for my Granddad, using the photos from his 80th birthday party.  I couldn't add depth to the pages without causing the book to "overflow", so I used paint and patterned papers to embellish.

For the cover, I added the ribbon, and used a piece of patterned paper in the window, topping it with two paper flowers - hard to tell in the photo, but they have beads in the center.

Before printing my photos, I added the names of the people in each photo.  Once printed, I painted the edges.  I cut patterned paper to cover the "memo" box next to each window, and painted the edges o the paper as well.

Once I had the photos in and the patterned paper adhered (Xyron), I stamped swirls (with paint) - on top of the photo windows - in the empty areas of some of the photos.  Then I added some Cinnamon stickles.

Another simple project, and I like how it turned out!  Hopefully, my Granddaddy will too!  :)

Granddaddy's 80th Birthday - Layout

One of the best things to come out of taking Cathy Zielske's Design Your Life class is that I learned to love 3-ring binder albums, and using a variety of page protectors inside!

I made a 4x6 album for my Granddaddy with all the photos from the party.  Since I already had the photos cropped and "labeled", I decided to print my favorites to use in a page protector that holds 12 4x6 photos (front and back).

I did a 12x12 layout using a 6x12 photo of my grandparents and a 6x12 photo block of my Granddad's cake and him blowing out the candles.  The little "scraps" in the border are leftover from the patterned paper I used to make my Granddad's album.

I inked the edges of the photos before placing in the page protector, and I made a journaling card with some more of the patterned paper scraps that is similar to one I used in my Granddad's book.

And the back of the photo page...

Using the page protector for 4x6 photos let me quickly create a three-page layout using 16 photos!

My GrandDaddy

I want to make a layout of this too - but this is the front of my GrandDaddy's birthday card - he is 80 this week!  :)  Are the wings too much??  I am open to feedback!!

Halloween Horror Nights - Layout

(Journaling) I wanted to go to Halloween Horror Nights SO badly - and was thrilled when Mike agreed to go! The parks close at 6 PM so that they can stage HHN, so we hit CityWalk for dinner. As the sun set, you could see the fog started to roll out of the parks. We finally entered the park - Islands of Adventure and Universal had been transformed with haunted houses, Scare Zones, and scary characters jumping out from dark corners. We had a ball! I screamed my way through every haunted house - and Mike laughed at me - except when a gal scared him into yelling too! We went back a couple of nights later to see the Bill & Ted’s Excellent Halloween Adventure, which was hilarious!

Snow Day - Layout

Yes - we had snow in Atlanta today!

(Journaling) We couldn’t believe it when the snow started falling today! They forecasted it yesterday, but it just didn’t seem cold enough - the trees and flowers had started blooming after all! We woke up to rain, then icy rain, and by noon, snowflakes! Within a couple of hours, the ground was covered, and you could hear the kids outside playing. Mike had a good time on the four-wheeler, and Tracy took lots of pictures, but Asher was not impressed - cold + wet are not things that he likes! It is starting to melt already, but it sure was beautiful to watch today, March 1, 2009.
