Two posts in one day - truly a miracle! :)
I wanted to give Mike a more personalized box of candy this year, so I decided to cover my own! First, I found a box of good chocolates - harder than you might think! I actually looked through to find one with a lid that wasn't quite perfect, since I planned to cover it up anyway! (Rite Aid - you can thank me later!)
Only the bottom/inside were shrink-wrapped, so I was able to remove the lid without opening the interior wrapping. (Too bad really, I might have taste-tested the candy.)
I traced the lid on some Harley Davidson scrapbook paper, trimmed to fit, and adhered. I found the logo in my box of Harley paraphenalia - it is cardboard, I think cut from a shoe box! I trimmed along the outline, and painted with Glimmer Glaze to give it some shine. I cut a piece of orange cardstock to back it so it would stand out a little more.
I added the ribbons and cards (all hearts), used pop-dots under the logo for depth, and adhered to the box. Done! I think Mike got a kick out of receiving a very unique box of chocolate for Valentine's Day! :)
